12 County River Heritage Region of Missouri Tourism

The Regional Commerce & Growth Association and the Southeast Missouri Chambers of Commerce are proud of our unique section of Missouri.  Our region is rich in cultural history, intriguing attractions, fun-filled festivals and spectacular scenery. You can find these things, and a lot more, all within the eighteen counties of southeast Missouri, and the best part is that our attractions are easy to reach and easy to enjoy.

Historic southeast Missouri will appeal to all your senses with its rich and varied past.  History comes alive with the excitement of a Civil War battlefield, the swirling romance of an old French Village, memories of vanished Native American tribes and historic homes that grace the oldest cities west of the Mississippi.

The natural beauty of the region is as varied as it's topography.  Within our region is the highest mountain in the state, picturesque national forests, grassy meadows dotted with wild flowers, misty swamps, clear blue springs and rugged white bluffs along the mighty Mississippi River.  As you travel further south, the landscape changes from rolling, forested hills to broad Mississippi Delta bottomland and some of the richest farmland in America.

Spend a weekend in southeast Missouri and it could become a lifetime love affair.  The Regional Commerce & Growth Association and the Southeast Missouri Chambers of Commerce invite you to explore the warm hospitality of the counties and communities of our region.
